Rendoc

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

By using Rendoc, you accept these terms. Please read them carefully before creating an account or using the service.

1. About the service

Rendoc is a civic web platform designed to make it easier to report, search for and return lost or found administrative documents. It connects people who have lost a document with those who have found it, through an automatic matching engine.

Rendoc is developed and operated by Audin Junior Nzousi Mboungnia, based in Douala, Cameroon. The platform is available at rendoc.cm, in French and in English.

2. Access to the service

Rendoc is open to any natural person with the legal capacity to enter into a contract. Creating an account requires a valid email address and a secure password.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Any activity carried out from your account is attributable to you.

3. What Rendoc guarantees

Rendoc guarantees that the person who reports having found your document does hold a document matching the type and characteristics you reported. Our matching engine verifies this consistency before any introduction is made.

What Rendoc does not guarantee: we cannot verify people’s intentions. Every exchange takes place under your sole responsibility.

4. Rules of use

By using Rendoc, you undertake to:

  • provide accurate and truthful information in your reports
  • only create reports for documents genuinely lost or found
  • not use the platform for fraudulent, commercial or malicious purposes
  • not impersonate another person
  • not harass, threaten or intimidate other users
  • follow the safety rules set out in article 5

Any breach of these rules may lead to the suspension or permanent deletion of your account.

5. Safety rules for exchanges

These rules are mandatory for every exchange, whoever the other party is.

Rendoc is entirely free for citizens. You must never pay to recover your document. Rendoc will never ask you for money, in any form, at any point in the return process.

Any request for payment is an attempted scam. Report it immediately from the Support section, category “Report suspicious behaviour”: these requests are handled as a priority.

Financial contributions made to support the platform are strictly voluntary. They do not condition any service, any processing priority or any advantage whatsoever.

To arrange the return of your document, follow these rules:

  • choose a public place: police station, town hall, shopping centre, busy location
  • bring someone you trust with you if you can
  • never share your banking or financial details
  • do not share your home address in messages
  • in case of immediate danger, contact the relevant authorities first

6. Reporting

Any suspicious behaviour, any request for money or attempted scam must be reported without delay.

Use the built-in support, category “Report suspicious behaviour”: these requests are handled as a priority.

In an emergency or in case of immediate danger, contact the relevant authorities first.

7. How the matching engine works

Rendoc uses an automatic matching engine. When a report is created, the system compares it with other compatible reports in order to identify possible matches.

A match is a proposed connection. It must be confirmed by both parties following the process defined by Rendoc. Confirming a match opens a private conversation in which the return can be arranged.

The matching engine is not infallible. Rendoc does not guarantee that a match will be found for every report.

8. Voluntary financial contributions

Rendoc offers users who wish to do so the possibility of contributing voluntarily to the platform’s running costs.

Contributions are processed through a mobile payment provider (Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money). They are final and non-refundable.

Contributions do not constitute the purchase of a service, a subscription or a contract. They grant no particular advantage on the platform.

Rendoc is not a registered charity. Contributions do not give rise to any tax receipt.

9. Limitation of liability

Rendoc is a civic platform that connects people. We make it easier for the person who lost a document and the person who found it to get in touch.

Rendoc cannot be held liable for:

  • the individual behaviour of its users
  • incidents occurring during exchanges or physical returns
  • harm resulting from inaccurate information provided by a user
  • a temporary interruption of the service for technical reasons
  • any indirect loss or damage resulting from use of the platform

By using Rendoc, you agree to act with caution and to follow the safety rules set out in article 5.

10. Service availability

Rendoc endeavours to keep the service available. However, interruptions may occur for technical or maintenance reasons, or for reasons beyond our control.

Rendoc does not guarantee permanent, uninterrupted availability of the service.

11. Intellectual property

The Rendoc name, its logo, its interface and its source code are the exclusive property of Audin Junior Nzousi Mboungnia. Any reproduction, copy or use without prior authorisation is prohibited.

Reports and messages published by users remain their property. By publishing them on Rendoc, you grant the platform the right to display them as part of the service.

12. Account suspension and deletion

Rendoc reserves the right to suspend or delete an account in the event of a breach of these terms, fraudulent behaviour or repeated reports by other users.

If your account is suspended, you may contact us to explain your situation: [email protected]

You may request the deletion of your account at any time from your profile. In accordance with our privacy policy, deletion leads to the anonymisation of your personal information while preserving the integrity of the history of returns.

13. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, available from the footer of every screen.

14. Changes to these terms

Rendoc reserves the right to amend these terms to reflect changes to the service or regulatory obligations.

In the event of a substantial change, you will be informed by email or by a notification in the application.

Continuing to use the service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by Cameroonian law.

Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction in Douala, Cameroon.
